Counter-top boilers tend to cost a little less and are easier to install (the 3kW models use a 13 amp plug so you don't need a qualified Electrician to wire them to a fused spur connection.) The down-side is that they take up valuable counter space and are less flexible in use. Bear in mind that a larger model may be needed (in both volume and height) if you plan to fill tall flasks or urns.
